A friend had a set like pictured for his small block, and took them off right away. The reverse lid holds oil, and he was dripping oil all over his clean engine bay, when taking them off.
Never had a problem with INDY cast covers either.

Well depending on what rockers and heads he has he might not have a choice.

I've used Cal Customs, M/T, Mopar and some other cast aluminum covers on a lot of different motors with stock stamp steel, stock ductile iron, Crane extruded alumunim , Harland Sharp rollers to T&D single shaft system with no problems

IMOI if you go with a sheet metal cover of any kind I would suggest looking for a billet rail one for sure. Most I have used required clearancing a tad.

I have the Mancini fabricated covers with HS rockers and RPM heads. Not sure if they would clear the Victor versions though. With Superperformance gaskets, no leaks.

There are the ones I am using with Indy EZ's and HS rockers. However I did end up knocking out the baffles....

Victor heads, Harland Sharp rockers
Too wide
The ones I linked will clear I'm sure, I'd like a cast cover but I don't think any of them are wide enough to clear
I've got a set of Victor M.W. heads on my bracket motor now with Hughes rockers, I'm replacing them with a set of Harland Sharp 1.6 roller rockers as soon as they build and ship them to me I've had two different sets of Valve covers on this motor so far, Cal Custom cast with four breathers on them and the current set of Indy cast covers to use with the new vacume pump. I'll let you know how the Harland Sharps clear the Indy cover in two weeks, hopefully
