Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use to keep my carb linkage free?

I have sprayed it with carb cleaner a couple times, but I am getting tired of having to open the hood to get the thing to start.

It happens now just when it is really cold. Like this morning at 7:30 it was about 3 degrees and wouldn't free up when I hit the gas pedal.

Opended up the hood and moved it with my hand and it slowly slipped into high idle and closed up the choke. Started right up after that too.

is it getting water in it somehow? Have you sprayed it w/ WD-40 or the like? I'd give it a heavy dose of it at both ends.

It is possible that water is getting to it, but I have checked and don't see it. It has snowed and when you open the hood some will always fall into the engine compartment. But that is usually to the rear of the engine not out in the middle.

I wasn't sure if WD-40 would be a good idea. Hence my request for advice. I never know for sure if there isn't some specific product to do the job. Seems most of the time I try WD-40 it doesn't stay where I put it.

Silicone spray. Lubes and repels water.

The weight of the linkage and/or the tension of the choke thermostatic spring will close it(even when it's freezing)when you floor the pedal before starting. My suggestion would be to undo some of this linkage assy & ID the exact piece that is not free that is hanging things up.
