Anyone run a toilet bowl using an electric fuel pump? All I read about them say use a belt driven pump.

Never seen it done, I ran a Flying Toilet for years, so did a few of my friends...all belt driven. However, the man to ask if it's possible is James Monroe, tech rep for Roñs, super sharp and a nice guy. 812 327 1190.

The way I understand the system, you must use a crank or cam driven pump since it pumps more fuel as the rpm goes up. Since higher rpm puts more air through the engine, it needs more fuel to keep the air/fuel ratio correct.

I have been running a Ron's Flying Toilet since 2009 and I love the performance and ease of tuning. I do recommend the gasoline primer system to make starting easier, especially in cool weather (below ~70F).

A flying toilet is brand name for a throttle body mechanical fuel injection system. All mechanical fuel injection systems must use a 1/2 engine rpm speed mechanical fuel pump, proper barrel valve and correct sized nozzles. Then when you get good at it you can add high speed checks to clean up the upper RPM’s.

So to answer your question, NO!

Did you go straight to meth from gas Jim and if so what sort of increase in performance?

First hand experience, it won't work. Back in the 50's I attempted to run my injection on the street with elect fuel pumps. I even put 2 in series. Would not run so for the street I had to go back to carbs.

In 2007 I was running race gas with a carburetor. In 2008 I put an E-85 carb on the car and liked it. So in 2009 I bought a Ron's Flying Toilet and set it up for E-85 and it was great. I won the local track championship in my class (footbrake).

Since E-85 changes price with gasoline, and pump gas prices went up, I later changed my injection from E-85 to methanol. It was an easy swap and I have been running methanol ever since.

Closest thing you can get in a carb is an SV1....
