Hello:
I recently aquired a set of CAT Roller Rockers(1:5)..anyone have a history with them? I had Proforms on my racecar. Got rid of them and went
to 440 Source roller rockers...3 times the rocker that Proform is...But I have no idea if these Cat's are worth installing.....Oh yeah they would be going it to a hot street engine in a Dakota.

if they are the aluminum roller rockers..

i bracket raced for 2 years with a set of the 1.5 aluminum roller rocker on a 340 with a mp 557 cam.
I did not have any problems with them.

basically a 6500 rpm and shift bracket engine...

I'm suprised with the Pro-Forms on a race car. I went through (inspected) 8 boxes of small block ones a few years at Mancini's and they all was crap. Big gouges in the shaft surface area and rollers that were really chunky rotating. I haven't held any CAT rockers in my hand to see the quality.

Hello:
Thanks for the replies...Perhaps I wasn't clear enough on the Proforms....I had them in long enough to break a couple of adjuster studs. Luckly nothing serious got hurt. Now here are some photos comparing the CATS (brown one) to 440 Source (Silver one). It is pretty obvious that the 440 Source is much larger, both have double row of bearings. The Cat has a washer type of stop (for want of a better term) on the roller contacting the valve. I havent put this on a head with valves in to see how it clears the retainer. The Cat has a Hex lock nut while the 440 Source has a 12 point nut.
Just thought some of you might like to see them compared.
