I never had much luck trying to graft fiberglass on to steel, especially on a hood. Just too much flex going on ( not to mention expansion / contraction differences). Always cracked eventually.

to increase the above-the-carb clearance like Dick Landy did on this particular version of his Pro Stock Challenger's hood scoop?
I am in the same boat, would love to have the Landy ta scoop. to run the dominator carb I had to pull my ta hood off, for dragweek last year and put a cowl hood on, I hated it. I put a 4150 back on the car just so I could get the ta hood back on, but still looking for options. that other monster ta scoop just looks to disproportioned with the air inlets to tall. with the dominator being taller, just not enough air cleaner options, that 5/16th of an inch made all the difference of not being able to run the ta hood. If I could find the Landy ta scoop I would buy a flat glass hood to put it on. If you find someone to take yours apart and make it taller let me know, I would be interested.

I used evercoat fibertech fiberglass putty on my glass to steel ta hood and had no problems with it. It's not cheap, but beats redoing it down the road.

I found a local restoration shop that looks like it does a lot of old 'Vettes, so they should have a lot of 'glass work experience. I'd like to stop by there with the same pics that I posted above and see what they say.
So, I did stop by on the way home today. I show the guy the same pics as above and he says (basically) "No problem." and then gives me a quick tour of the shop and shows me a couple of the cars he's working on currently.
