All wise answers aside (kinda blue, kinda greenish) what's the color and code, and does anyone else have this color on thier 71? Love to see the pics.

This car is beautiful; This is what my Charger wants to be when it grows up.

If I see it correctly it's called Light Gunmetal Poly.

It's not blueish or greenish but gray.

Here's one similar, (71 Bee) I know this vehicles in Conn. If the owner sees this, drop me a line; Great looking car.

I've seen GA4 look kinda like this, but lighter gray. If not GA4, could it be GA8 - Dark Gunmetal Poly??

I've seen a pic of Tim Wellborn's(?)at Carlisle(?) and the pic looked dull, flat, plain grey.
But, Another pic of the same car looks nice/blueish...?

Guess I gotta spend the money and have a pint of paint mixed up.

Someone mentioned Roger Gibson's comment that it's a difficult color to mix correctly. Any Tips for the paint shop? Any special primers/ tints before applying?

Dodge name = Light Gunmetal Metalic,
Plymouth name = Winchester Gray

Looks greenish-gray or blueish-gray depending on the light, according to Rodger Gibson one of the hardest colors to mix correctly to get it 'right'.

Btw...my favorite color!

Kinda looks like GA8 in that pic to me. My 71 SSP is GA4 and looks lighter than that Charger.

I believe the GA8 was a c-body only color in '71 ...

... all of the Chargers in this thread are GA4, light & the amount of it change the color drastically.

The one for sale in Texas, use to belong to a member here before its "restoration".

As near as I can tell, in 71 GA8 was Slate Gray Poly for plymouth & chrysler, Dark Gunmetal Poly for dodge.

And you're probably right, the cars above seem to all be GA4 Lt. Gunmetal Poly; gotta love these digital cameras.

It's the gunmetal gray that they had that year . . . GA4?

Looks like the same color as my '72, GA4.

GA4 is one color which really varied from car to car or plant to plant. My GA4 71 RR jams and trunk were excellent so I carefully sprayed just the exterior. My paint guy came to my house twice when I was restoring it to make sure the exterior mix matched the original jams and trunk.
My point is: I have seen great color variations with GA4 cars (lighter,darker, more grey, more blue hue). Much more so than other factory colors.
Anyway...It's a beautiful color particularly on a 71 RR or Charger!!
