Gotta pick a few brains, getting ready to do a 360 swap on a 95 dakota swb auto 2wd 318 (5.2) its gunna be a late 90's 5.9 converted to carburated. Now the magnum motor mounts are the same on the 5.9 5.2 correct? And I know the 360 is balanced differently than the 318 what do I have to do to fix That problem? Any help appreciated

I think gen I dakota's ended in 1990. '95 would be a gen II, and the 5.9 Mag should fall into place just as the 5.2 would. The aftermarket makes (or B&M used to make) a balanced flex plate, so you could mate an unbalanced 318 torque converter to a 5.9 without any bad vibrations.

Great swap use the oil pan, pick-up off your 5.2 also.

Mopar Action had that 360 gen II Dakota project that was a slug low 15's mid 14's

However even with a mild Magnum 318 and the right set up they can run real well, mine ran low 13's

the same set up I had on a Magnum 360 should go mid 12's

Yes I'm going to keep the a500 in there just beef it up since its basically a 904,and the 8.25 as well just a 4.11 sure grip swap. And all I will need is the flexplate to solve balancing issues? Thank u guys for the help

5.9 flax plate and youre good to go.

My 92 5.2 RC came with a 3.55 gear but most of the 4x4 ones came with 3.91 and Sure Grip. I found a low mile one for mine and swapped it out.

I run 17" RT wheels and with a 275/60/17 out back its runs great.

Only mods to mine is a K&N filter, Flowmaster muffler and MP PCM.

It goes 14.70-80s with 179K on the clock.

If you use the 96 and up 5.9 flexplate it will have 90 degree TC bolt spacing. Your 95 converter will have one offset TC bolt. You will have to file one of the holes for the offset lug to bolt up.
