What actually holds the inserts in place? It looks like just the stainless corner trim? The dash was some what apart when a got it. Also does the corner trim just screw into the A pillar trim? Any detailed pictures of a 68 GTX dash would be great. Thanks Larry J

There is a little, tiny "T nut" that attaches to the small cutout on the dogleg. Problem is, most people bust that section when removing the piece. I've passed up many a used piece that was otherwise very nice due to this issue.

....What he said. And yes...the screw goes into the moulding. Kinda bizzare....but it works.
I may have some spare T-nuts . I could look if you want...

Mike is the only one doing them that I know of. The face is not nearly as important as the back. You can always polish out the scratches or sand it with 800 and clear over it.

Keep in mind '68 and '69 are different and most people don't know which they have when they advertise them.

The radio bezel is easier as the '69 has writing and the '68 does not.

I know the 68's are lighter than 69. Mine are 69's not 68 for sure. These are not easily found. I purchased as set from a vendor on Ebay. They look OK. He just does an overlay on top. Again they look OK but not done like the originals. If anyone has a set from a 68 GTX they what to part with let me know. Thanks Larry J

2nd pic. The small Phillips screws are what holds it to the dash frame. This one is missing the screw up top.

Has anyone tried to polish the fine scratches out of these inserts? If so what did you use and what level of success did you have? Mine have some very fine scratches I would like to try and remove. Thanks Larry J

....You can see the little flat-headed T style mounting clip on the lower right of that Sport Satellite insert....I'm sure the left side has one as well.
