I'm looking at changing out the K member in my 1966 Dodge Coronet Deluxe from the six cylinder to a V8 K member, I have a 1966/67 V8 K member with the single lower retainer idler arm bracket and I also have a 1968/70 K member with the two piece idler arm retainer brackets, I looked up the part number for the idler arm for both years and there not the same My question is to those that have swapped out the early K member to the later is will the idler arm on the 1968/70 K member fit and work okay with the 1966/67 steering linkages by using the 1968/70 K member? Or do I need to swap out all the early steering linkage to the later style like you have to on the A bodies

Cab ,
had the same question . Answer is to use the correct idler to match the k frame . No other issues .
I will be doing this in a 64 or 65

use the later k and corresponding idler then use 11/16 tie rods and adjuster sleeves from a c body.

The later K frames use bigger steering box bolts for the power steering, not sure on the manual boxes. I just tapped out the threads to the bigger size.

just get the 68-70 idler and everything else swaps over.
