I usually don't go in for automatics but something appealed to my "dust and rat crap" side with this one. I never got a chance to thank the member who threw this one up in the WIW section cuz the thread disappeared. Anyways, a new friend in Nebraska is currently flushing the dead fluids and I am gathering parts. Original engine, trans, rear, heck its even still wearing its original exhaust. I love B7 blue and its a rarity on a '70.

I'll add pictures as Tracy, the king of Waking Dead Mopars, stirs this slumbering beast from her dirt nap.

That is a super original 70 car.
Good luck with your bringing it back to life.

Congrats! I thought that was a darn nice car when I saw it listed on craigslist. Then I saw your ad wanting someone to work on a car in that area and I sort of figured that you might have picked it up.
Best of luck with it!
Matt

Just picked up my 70 challenger from Tracy. I saw your car. That is an awesome project. It's in good hands with Tracy. I recommend him to anyone. Great guy and mechanic. Enjoy it.

Very nice, great color.

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

Not necessarily true. My original puked out all the epoxy about 10 years ago and is still going strong...knock knock.

But I have a new one in the trunk at the ready.

Mixed emotions on it because a 4-speed car I have wanted for a long time has come up for sale and I, reluctantly, have to let this one go - it's such a cool car. I never even got to get it home and drive it. I seriously entertained doing a 4-speed and DANA swap into this car but came to the conclusion that it would be wrong to disturb such an original car that way.

New York
I know quite a few guys here in New York that still haven't found the car that they really want. Instead they choose to hoard some of the rarest and never before seen Mopars in sheds, under awnings, in basements, etc. just incase that perfectly optioned Mopar comes their way. Me personally, I think you're doing our hobby a huge favor by bringing that car back from hibernation and giving someone else a chance to own, enjoy, and create memories in that Cuda instead of just sitting on it for the next 25 years until you find your dream car. Trust me, If I had the extra coin right now, I'd love to own and enjoy that car.

I agree, I've done the same thing myself, not by plan but simply because I bought a car that was close to what I wanted but not exactly, I bought it thinking I wouldn't find one better, and then along comes the exact car I wanted and poof! Time to sell the first one. Sometimes the timing is rather close, sometimes not, but it happens.

Good job Des!

I agree as well: That Cuda sitting another 25 years doesn't do anyone any good, great progress made on it. Flippers are the ones that do absolutely nothing to a car except inflate the price.

The purpose of this "member projects" area of the board is to post the stories behind just that, member projects! These typically last much longer then 30 days that was the case with this 'Cuda thread. It is very cool to read about it as a member works to complete their project. IMHO, it would have been great to see that done with this 'Cuda. Hopefully the next owner will hold on to the car for a while and share the ownership/restoration experience with us.

reluctantly, have to let this one go

Cool 'Cuda, Always sad when the last chapter of the story is the car is quickly flipped.

I agree!! I posted here thinking this B7 cuda was in the new hands of someone that REALLY wanted the car??? I'll stop at that, before I go to far!!

I have done the same a couple of times, too.

I just bought a ER6 red 1970 SFGT but really want an EB7 blue one.
I will fix the red one and get it on the road but as soon as there is the right EB7 one out there I am going to let my red go.

Everything is good Desmond
