Mine is approx. 3,480 lbs. wet/full fuel cell. Stripped down with full cage and cast iron aluminum head 340. No idea front to rear bias. I will weigh it again once I get the engine swapped

Is that a lot for an E body? I'm assuming adding the cage added more weight than stripping the interior did.

Mine weighed 3240 with no backseat,steel hood,steel wheels and a 400/451 auto. I would be pleased if it still weighed that but I doubt it is any lighter after cage and Gen III swap.

Digital scales at Hotchkis BEFORE Hotchkis Suspension installed.  Details of my 1968 Barracuda Coupe at this particular point in time it was weighed. Lots of changes since. 3412 lbs. 56% front 44% rear - All iron 360: stock iron intake, iron J heads, iron water pump, 340 hipo ex manifolds
- 727 trans, stock driveshaft
- heavy A-body console, Toyota front bucket seats, heater, full interior
- 11.75 disk conversion, 10"x1 3/4" bell hat rear drums.
- aluminum master cylinder
- 1 1/8" solid front sway bar, 3/4" solid rear sway bar.
- .99" Torsion bars,stock 340 leaf springs
- 73-76 reinforced K-member,
- factory brass radiator with plastic shroud
- 15x9 cast aluminum Optima brand Minilite looking rims

Here are my weights. '70 Challenger, aluminum headed B stroker, 5 speed, AC, frame connectors & torque boxes, battery in trunk, full original style interior. Weight includes me, small tool box, full spare and jack:
Front 2,120 54%
Rear 1,849 46%
Total 3,960
I weighed at a local sand and gravel vendor accurate +/- 20 lbs. Lightening plans include 1) loose the "big Chrysler" alternator 2) Aluminum MC. Probably worth 25 lbs on the nose.

Here's one for all those out there that like to say the 6-cyl was a better balanced package than even the 340 cars...
70 Challenger. 225, 3-speed stick, 7 1/4", drums, 14's, NO options at all. 100% bone stock survivor weighed on some really cool 4-wheel stock car scales:
3000lbs (+/- 10-15lbs)
59% front
41% rear
Left/right was pretty close.
Thought for SURE this thing would be a nicely balanced car... for an E-body anyways... but nope. I've heard most 340 (HP) E-bodies were better than 60/40%... I guess this thing just has NOTHING out back... or maybe that 7 1/4" weighs about 50lbs. That slant six sure aint no lightweight... There is nothing heavy up front on this car either... tiny rad, no sway bar, tiny drums, 2-speed wipers, power-nuthin', just nuthin'.
Gonna be a helluva fight getting this thing to a nice 50/50 with a V8 and all that goes with it...

3620 lb total 54.8% Front 45.2% Rear  With a shop worker in the drivers seat (lighter than me):  1973 duster all steel (fiberglass hood scoop). Full interior, stereo, AC. 4 point rollbar. Gen 3 Hemi, TKO600, ford 9" floater Alum Afco radiator, large oil cooler. No spare tire. 1/2-2/3 tank of gas.

It isn't a total shot in the dark, and obviously the more you know about your particular set up, the better you can dial it in. However, as demonstrated by a lot of the feedback in this thread, an approximate range of 55-60% front bias is a reasonable starting point for most combinations to at least get you in the parking lot of the ball park...
Four corner scales are the best way to know exactly where you are at, but even a front/rear check at the local rock yard/dump/drywall supplier/truck scale/track scale is a fair starting point.

I'll post what I've got. It's no secret as its been posted on my website (now considered old fashined plain html) for years. For tech geeks its on my Handling Theory & Data page  Weighed at Englishtown (w/ 150 lbs. of tools) subtracting the tools. 1967 Barracuda Notchback, 340 3240 lbs. Weighed in 2003 at 3201 lbs. 58 % on the front. (For setting alignment I load the front seat with weights. Above weight was no driver.) In terms of weight, the car is basically stock, plain jane with manual steering. Exceptions being aluminum intake & water pump and the wheels. editWeight in 2003 was with 14" cast slot rims and street tires, 1/2 tank of fuel, spare. In 2005, with new springs & t-bars, circle racing rims, Hoosier "Street TD" tires 245/50-15, full tank, no spare, was about 30 lbs less. After adjusting t-bars, the weight balance ended up 57.5% front with driver seated weighted, and 3310 lbs total. Weighting the driver seat did not effect the fr/rr balance much, but did effect the side to side. So this was important to do before adjusting the t-bars and reattaching the sway bar links. Stock Barracuda Wt & Wt Distribution from Published Data.1966 Barracuda S 3280 lbs. 56 % ft. (w/ driver) Road & Track 1966 Barracuda S 2820 curb, 3100 test 57 % ft. (w/ driver) Car & Driver 1967 NB 6 a/c 3280 curb, 3580 test, 58.9 % Car Life 1967 FB 273 p/b 3310 curb, 3720 test, 54.9 % Car Life 1969 FB 340 p/b p/s 3470 curb, 3650 test, 55.1 % (w/ driver) Car Life (car tested w/ K-H alum. rims) 1969 FB 440 3405 curb, 3740 test, 57.2 % (w/ driver) Car Life 1970 340 p/s p/b 3630 curb, 4020 test, 56 % (w/ driver) Car Life 1970 AAR 3585 curb 56.1 % Car Life 1972 340 p/s p/b 3520 curb 56.8 % Car & Driver Magazine articles cited all reprinted in Brooklands Books Plymouth Barracuda 1964-1974Basically, of the Barracudas and Chllengers, a fastback second gen or first gen Barracuda is probably the best starting point in terms of front to rear balance. The first generation is the lightest starting point, and amongst the second generation notchbacks start lighter than the fastbacks. For racing and autocross, its generally hard to get down to the minimum class weights especially if you're also working toward 50/50 balance. This is based on numbers I've seen from A and E body race cars.

318/904, al wheels, al radiator, really heavy 3" exhaust dumped at the axle, full interior, 11-3/4" front brakes/rear drums. ~1/4tank of fuel We'll see how much weight I add with the Hemi/T56 Magnum swap.
