Is it possible to back the trailer up to the post lift and not use any ramps?

Your brother moving his shop or closing up?

my trailer is 8ft wide and so is the garage door opening. i plan to back it to the post if i can and pull it on to the trailer.i have an open center trailewr so i need the ramps to close the gap between the outer ramps that the tires ride on on the frame.if i can stabilize the dyno with the ramps by putting them under it and then pull it on the trailer it may be safer to move that way.

You might think about an engine hoist to lift the dyno up and roll the trailer under it

NAH!lowering it on to jackstands and pulling under it with the ramps, raise the lift to the ramps and slide it all on to the trailer with a comealong.[hand winch]

That looks like it will be a PITA. Id use a different trailor if it were me.

Im not sure I understand what your doing with this Dyno. Moving it or storing it on the trailor Outside.??

You say your moving it but you may just leave it on the trailor and pull it around to tracks to dyno some bikes.

Are you going to desinate this trailor for the use of the dyno. If so I think you need to do some modifications first to the trailor. mike

it is the only trailer available.the dyno will be stored after moving.we can make a frame to bolt it on,off the trailer.

Gettin that thang up with a hand job winch iz gunna be a MAJOR pita!!!!You gotta know someone with a flatbed to pick it up and slide it onto your trailer,or a wrecker with a boom to pick it up and set it on your trailer

Yeah, but your car has wheels. Pulling dead weight will be a different story, But still doable.

I wouldent like the idea of pulling the dyno over those ramps that will flex with all of those grip holes in them that will try to catch every knoke and cranny of the dyno base. And you have that same surface on the trailor too.

I suspect you Will have some problems, But if you have no time issues and plenty of beer you should be able to get the job done.

A good engine hoist just might be able to get the job done. I moved my 1500# printing press with one.

I was able to hoist it off the ground high enough to back my trailor undernieth it. This was after I slid it over 20 ft to the edge of the garage, By myself I might add. It probably would of handled another 300#

Useing the ramps as you suggest, I envision the ramps deflecting into a bow shape. Promoting the flat bed edges of the dyno base to Catch.
In every single one of those traction holes on the ramp on the Up slope side as you hand winch it on towards the trailor.
You will need a buddy with a tire iron to work in sinc with your winch pulls.

It should be a good beer drinking event/show IMO But I bet your up for it mike

i will put the dyno on the ramp and pull the ramp on to the trailer.the ramps are smooth on the bottom and will slid on the trailer frame.
the hand winch is not like a boat 1.it has a 2ft lever and i could put a longer bar on it if needed.

Mike that sounds a little better. I guess I dont have complete picture in my head. And thats okay.

As I understood you at first. The Dyno is on the lift in the garage. The trailor will only come to the door of the garage.

And you had to bridge that gap with the ramps to pull it on.

Okay and now my new understanding is you will lower the dyno onto jackstands, slide the ramps under the dyno and on top of the lift and try to pull the ramps with the dyno on top onto the trailor.

But you still have this gap to bridge between the lift and the trailor to deal with.

Hey, youve been on site and have a clear picture of what your doing. As described, and in my interpertation I saw potencial problems and was just trying to help a fellow member.

Im still not sure as to how you plan on bridging the gap between the lift and the trailor , but thats okay. mike
