I have seen 255/60/15 and 275/50/15 on the fronts but not this size, anyone tried or had them fit?

325/50/15, but you might need a grown up sized car for that...

That dogbone tread looks like the POS-A-Traction tire!

Mickey Thompson bias ply.I used to run them on the rear YEARS ago.
Why would you need a tire that tall and wide on the front?I don't see it helping a thing.

Your Dart?

a 275/60/15 might fit but why? that would look very silly.

Not for my dart or gtx just wondering if anyone has attempted to do it for that old school nascar look. I am in the middle of deciding what new shoes to put on my gtx so just throwing things out there. I could see a big c-body pulling it off and possibly looking good doing it?

I had 255's all the way around for a lot of years...

On a manual steering '71 Ply B-body...

They were a handful...

Went to 235's up front...

Much better...

I think it would look great. Like you said old school NASCAR. With the right backspace I think it might be possible. The front corner of the fender would be the limiting factor. I've run 255/60 15" on my Challenger.

I have the Nascar theme planned for a 71 Charger, you ran 255/60s, what size rim and what was the back space?

They were mounted on OEM 15x7 Rallys...

Can't tell you the backspace...

(They rubbed(ever so slightly) up front on full-lock)...

Herb remember "The Street Monster" chevelle that use to be around all the shows. I think he ran a 12 inch wide rim with some giant pro trac tire on the front.

IIRC years ago one of the mopar mags did a handling article using a 71 Charger R/T.Using bigger front and rear swaybars,Bigger torsion bars, better shocks and the tires were 295/50 rear and 265/50 front on 15x8 rallye wheels. It improved cornering G's and slalom mph quite a bit.

Yes, I do and always thought it looked good with the big meats all the way around. Cant say so much for the paint job though. Had a buddy with a 67 Chevelle 300 and had 15x8 black rally wheels on all 4 corners with 275/50/15 bfg`s and it looked great! It was just a straight 6 with 3 speed on the floor but it looked the part. My gtx currently runs 50 series tires on all 4 corners 305 in the rear and 265 up front and thinking of going with 325 in the rear and a 275 up front with the new combo. Unfortunately a lot of the old school combos that used to be run are not possible with todays current offerings. I have never put wide tires on a car that did not handle better than the smaller units they replaced.

When I bought my 70 coronet a couple years back it had 275/60/15 in front and back on steelies. It would kiss the middle of the fender on turns hitting bumps and cracked the center of the fender on both sides. I guess torsion bars could have been raised to fix that. It also wore a bare metal spot on the frame on both sides from full turns by the time I got it home 1000 miles. I would never put those on the front of a mopar, I was quick to take them off. But It could be done I guess. Here is a pic when they were on it

I had some already mounted on stock 7" steelies, so i threw them on the 72 Charger all 'round. They rubbed a bit up front (not enough to matter), but i didn't like the look. Wide = good. Tall = no. A 275/60 is not a Nascar shaped tire. 255 is too small. A 295/55 would be perfect i think for the LOOK... though it'd rub a bit too.

I've always run 275/60/15 Comp T/A's on my C-bodies... even collected a veritable pile ov them too. No issues at all. Still a bit too tall a profile for my liking, but the 28" does at least look right on the big C's.

I agree they are a bit tall to look real good, but that's just IMO.

Mickey Thompson SR, 26x12 is around a 305r45x15, a 26x10 would be a 260r50x15
