My first hot rod Mopar was a '69 Super Bee I owned in the mid '70s. It was copper with a tan vinyl top and tan interior. Over the years I have seen quite a few copper ones so I would assume it was a fairly popular color. I recently purchased a project car (I said I wasn't going to do that anymore , oh well). It's another "69 Bee but it's white. So I was thinking about the old days when there were a lot of these cars running around and can't remember ever seeing a white one, although I admit my memory isn't that great anymore. So, was white not that popular back then (for a Super Bee) or is my memory just not that great? The car also had a black vinyl top and a blue interior, which seems odd to me. Here are the fender tag codes. I took a pic but it was blurry. END M21 N96 R11 V1X V21 V8X A39 A62 C16 C55 J25 J45 W1 W1 M6B B7 707 461xxx E63, D24, WM21H9G 30xxxx The license expired in 1975. It was wrecked in the front and parted out. I'm debating whether to try to bring it back to life. I hate working on old cars anymore but I do like to drive them.....and I'm nostalgic for a '69 Bee. I'll post some pics of the car when I get some better ones. TIA for any input or discussion, Dallas

"WHITE" is probably a middle of the road color. it seems there aren't as many 3-color cars (white paint/blue interior/black top) as mono-tone (all green, all blue, all tan, etc.) or simple two colored cars (any color with black/white top & interior). The "spring special" Super Bee is an even "rarer" sight (V21 on N96, J45, D21, RWL), if it is not a total POS - restore it or get it to someone who will.

Dan, got anything on Omaha Orange '69 'Bees???
I intentionally answered the OP's question for St. Louis ONLY, to maker it easier (on me) & to not skew the numbers because of the many (saved/collectable) bright colored A12 cars. That being said, I only have fender tag info for 1 "99" paint code 1969 Super Bee & it appears to have been originally "pink".

I've got to run now but I'll try to post some pics late tonite. The car is definately savable, IMO, even though it will require quite a bit of parts accumulating to make it a complete car again.
I've seen A39 referred to as both 'Spring Special' and Scat Pack Special'.
As I understand it the build date is 707 which is way past springtime. Any ideas on this?
Thanks, Dallas

Check out : www.superbeeregistry.com There's a "by the numbers" section that breaks down some of the available combos, including color. White appears to be one of the less common colors (at least of the cars registered) in '69 and especially so in '68.

Dan, Here are a few pics. It's amazing that this car is still around after all these years, especially since it was apparently wrecked back in '74 or '75. I've been gathering some info on it. I think it has basically been in about a 30 mile radius all this time. From what I've found so far a guy who lives less than 10 miles from me owned it in the '70s. I don't know if he wrecked it or bought it that way. I think he pulled the drivetrain and installed it in a '64 Plymouth or Dodge. The Bee then went to at least 2 other owners before I got it.
Amazingly, I am hopeful of tracking the original motor and trans down. Another guy I know bought the '64 with the transplanted 383-4 speed about 4 or 5 years ago. However he traded the motor and trans to someone. He couldn't remember the guy's name but he did remember where he lived. So, I'll check that out next. Wish me luck, lol. Thanks for all the input, Dallas

Needs some soap and water, lol. It was sitting in the trees when I got it. I got a rear end with it but I think it's out of a '67. I may have to rob parts from the '68 Coronet 500 in the background of the first pic to fix this one. I kind of hate to part the 500 out as it's a yellow 383 car with a black top and white interior. I also sold a big block flywheel and bell housing (for $75!!). I'd hung onto them for about 30 years and never had any use for them . Sold them about a year ago, too. I also sold a complete '69 383 HP long block (with intake) about a month before I bought this car. Thought I'd never need it either....... Anyway, the right inner fender has a little damage down low on the front, but the left one seems straight. Dallas

Floors aren't too bad. The frame rails all seem to be pretty solid. The trunk floor is bad.
I have the instrument cluster for it and a restored set of clutch and brake pedals. Dallas

Back seat is still there. No front seats or console, though.
If I can't find the original motor and trans I do have a '69 b-body 4 speed with the original shifter and knob. At least I hadn't gotten rid of it yet........ Dallas

None of them are cheap or easy to restore, but that's a great starting point & would be an awesome project especially if the original drivetrain could be tracked down. & I'm a little so here's a new total (256 - almost 1%) with the colors from the St. Louis cars in the SUPER BEE REGISTRY : 32 - F8 27 - B5 26 - Y2 25 - T5 24 - R6 19 - F5 15 - W112 - A4 11 - R4 10 - T7 9 - F6 9 - Q5 7 - V2 6 - F3 6 - Y3 6 - Y4 5 - T3 4 - X9 2 - B3 1 - B7 0 - L1 (one w/red interior on eBay last week, but NO tag pic) W1 dropped to 7th (F5, R6, T5, & Y2 passed it, not much of a surprise there)
