Wondering who is running a drag radial or bias ply sticky rear tires on the streets nowadays? I used to run M&H bias cheaters on my 70 340 Dart without issue and radials up front. I need some new meats on my GTX and torn on what to run around with. I currently have 15+ year old 305/50/15 BFG`s on 15x10 wheels on the car and would like to replace. Not sure if I go with a set of regular radials in a 295/50/15 or step up to a 325/50/15 drag radial as there are a few options in that size. But have also thought about running a bias in the rear for maximum off the line traction such as the M&H, Hoosiers or ET Street. Would love to hear and see some pictures of what some of you are running and how you like them on our regular roads or highways. I ran a set of 325/50/15 Drag Radials for a while on the car until the cords started showing. They worked ok but nothing like a bias ply when I put the pedal down from a dead stop.

I've ran the same size M/T ET Streets and ET Street Radials on my pump gas Duster that ran low tens at the track on a good surface, the bias plys are way better on the street I've had my Duster sideways spinning the radials on the street goind around a corner passing a car several times between 35 and 55 MPH, NOT GOOD

The problem I had was I wanted a 30 to 31" tall tire no wider then 10" and I just cant find that in drag radials. I dont know why as they make 30 x 9 slicks for Stock Eliminator cars but no drag radial. I dont want to go over 10" wide because I wont tub my 63 and I want a tire in the back that I can drive on turns and not rub. I like radials as I have a standard pass car tire up front that is.........215/75R15 and I decided to just drive on the Hoosier 30 x 9 radial slicks. And I have been driving on the 30 x 9 x 15 radial slicks on my 63 for about 4 years and I did buy a new set last year. I run 28 psi on the street and drop them to 16 at the track. And it really handles nice with a radial tire all around. The radial slicks drive great going down the road and I will keep driving on them until I can get a 30 x 9 in a drag radial. The car hooks fine on them as with just SS springs my best 60 is a 1.50 running 10.76. Ron

Ron, you do know that I love your car right!

I agree that a radial will be a better tire on the street and highway without question. After pouring thru many websites this evening and reading all the different opinions I am leaning toward a set of 325/50/15 Hoosier Drag Radials. Anyone running these and have any input on them?

Firestone 6.70-15s on the front, there are M&H J60 "Musclecar" DOT approved wrinklewalls on in this pic. Now I'm running their 9.00-15 Nostalgia slicks on the rear. You're not going to throw it into any turns with them, but with S/S springs and small block T bars up front I wasn't going to be doing that anyway. It has the look and hooks hard on the street.

Thanks for the kind words. I do like how well my 63 handles on radials as thats what I like about driving on radials on the street. Ron

That's what I run, 295 55 15s on a 15x10 wheel on a '67 Dart 440.

A little spin of the wheels on the street to warm things up, then back up a bit and GO. They hook nicely for me, but my car only runs low 12s or so.

I have run the et radials on the street and track, and though they are far better than a standard radial do not hook very well from a dead stop with my power level, weight and 4spd trans. 1st gear in my car with the hammer down is just a spin fest of the rear tires. But get it rolling out of the hole with proper gas pedal application the drag radials provide extra bite. I dont drive like a maniac and probably would be considered a grandma driver by most! Again just looking for better grip on the street when I do decide to have a little fun. Right now with the BFG`s on the rear I can break them loose even at a 40mph roll pretty easy. It will not do that with a set of drag radials installed. So it comes down to what fit, works, and gives me the look that I want. Appreciate the feedback guys!

The key for you is the 4-speed. Radials wont hook very well with a clutch car. If I were you I'd be looking at MT ET-Streets, but I'd be matching them with a bias tire up front.

Thats true as I have heard other stick car owners say that. Guess I am lucky using an auto as the Hoosier radial slicks hook good for me and my 63 drives like a Caddy on radials compared to how it feels on bias tires. Ron

I run the M/T ET Streets on my Savoy and they work really nice keeping the car straight on the street during a good road beating

On the track my car doesn't hook very well on the 2-step at 4500 and I can only pull a 1.59 60' with them and I normally pull a 1.48 with ET Drags on it.

As said they work well on automatic cars but for some strange reason they don't like to be shocked with a stick I have seen them work with a trans-brake and it shocks the tire too

put a set of these on a customers 572 CASHMARO and WOW they hook on the street. Not so well in the first 3-5 miles of normal driving but once warmed a bit THEY BITE. 600 RWHP and they work. Did not try a clutch dump from a stop but I was impressed with them on a low roll
