There is a O ring inside the master the rod goes into.They can be a bear.You can put the rod end in a vice and smack the plunger off.Make sure the new master has the Oring or a piece of vacuum hose so the rod cant fall off.Rocky

I'm assuming you are replacing the MC. FYI next time leave the allen bolt in the MC rear flange holding the piston in place, in there & clamp the MC in your vice & slip a rod thru the end of the pushrod & hit the rod with a hammer at a straight angle close to the eyelet to drive/pull the other end of the pushrod straight back out of the MC piston. If your hyd floor jack has a hole in the plate/correct dimentions to set the MC/pushrod verticaldown into it then slip a rod under the jack horizontle thru the eyelet then jack it up (the even pressure works much better) to seperate em
