Hi Guy's,
I have the Firm Feel fast ratio arms.
I want to run some Doug headers with my 70 cuda (383 auto)
Does anyone know if they will clear?

I thought the Firm Feel website has a list of headers that will fit?

MY FF idler arm barely misses the pasenger side exhaust. I'm running a TT stock exhaust. I have to take the grease zerk off to keep it from hitting. 71 RR/ 452 big block

Not sure if it helps, but in my 70 Charger, I run the 2" TTI headers on my 440/493. The TTI instructions state that the FR arms will NOT clear, yet they do by 3/8" or more.

This might be helpful or not, but I have the fast ratio arms on my 71 Satellite 340 and I run the Hedman block hugger headers. They output in front of the centerlink so you then have to route the exhaust over the steering linkage and out. It's a little bit of a pain but it's worked for me for the past 8 years.

Link to the big block version:

Edit: Looking at the picture of the big block headers, they curve a bit to the back, unlike the small block ones. It still looks like it would clear, but I don't know for sure.

I have had a few different headers(1 3/4 & 2") on my Challenger 440/505 and they all cleared. Seems that most 1 3/4 headers are designed with similar tube routing. Currently I have 2" TTI's and I have tons of room.
A buddy of mine has 1 7/8 TTI's in a BB cuda and no way those would clear.
I am assuming you are looking at 1 3/4" headers?

I scoured for the same info for B-bodies with Doug's 2" primaries.
Dick said he'd ship me a set, if they fit cool, if not, don't beat them up trying them on and he'd take them back. Maybe ask him if he'd do the same for you?

Did Dougs with 2" primary and B-body work for you?

What year B-body?

What motor? Raised block (440,413, etc) OR low deck (383, 400, etc)?

How much clearance at Idler and Pitman.

An E-body should be extremely close to same clearance there. The K-members are interchangeable for function.

RTSE,
when you tried the 1-3/4 headers you had F.F fast ratio arms on?

If so could you tell me which one's worked for you, and these were above the steering link type correct?

FYI I spoke to a tech guy at Pertronix (dougs) and he said no-way they would fit. that they barely fit a normal pitman /idler arm.
But you know how it is with tech guys on the phone.....

Yes, the fast ratio arms were installed. Both sets were above the linkage. One set were hedmans. The other set I have no idea. They were an old set I used for engine break in. The tube routing was identical only difference that I could tell was flange thickness. I would bet doug's would fit but it is not my money.
Firm Feel lists on their website that 2" tti's don't fit but they have more clearance than any header I have seen.

Thx RTSE for the info. Definently gives me a better feeling on which way to go here.

Sorry, just saw this.
I decided to go with a FR box and stick with the stock arms.
