Are there any issues/problems in switching from 2bbl intake to a 4bbl intake on a LA 318 engine? This is for a '74 Dodge Truck engine. I realize the carb linkage is changed, but any other problems?

No not really, it is generally a straight foward swap.
To not pick, the 318 heads have a smaller port window than most aftermarket intake manifolds. This will cause the air and fuel to crash into the head. Not the best thing for making power. Some intake manifolds are designed for the smaller port window.

You could always port match the head to the larger window. But for a basic cheap and easy power upgrade, just do the swap and do not worry about anything.

FWIW, I use the LOKAR cable set up to replace the linkages.

Don't worry about the port mismatch, although remember to use 360 gaskets if you're using a 360 runner.

You could use an Edelbrock Performer as its ports are 318-sized. Or the LD4B as it too is sized for 318.

On my current engine I am using a mid'70s TQ intake which is a really nice piece though extremely heavy. But it's a real high rise intake and good for 380hp or more.

My major experience is with a Poly 318 and going to 4-barrel over stock 2-barrel made the engine feel quite a bit stronger. Actually felt like I'd added cubic inches.

Also the tunability of a 4-barrel is better because there are parts for them. This matters.

I got a n old Holley Street Dominator with small ports off E-bay last winter for $75 and shipping. There are almost always some on there and they rarely go over $80.

this is a low rise open plenum intake with small 318 runners, works rather well as a daily street drive.

IMHO a LD4B or the street dominator are the 2 best intakes to use on a 2-v 318 conversion.

my 1999 PAW catalog shows the holley street dom with small cfm 4-v carb as a 70 HP bolt on swaping from a 2-v intake with the whimpy 2-v cam.

I run a street dom on the whiplash roller cam 318 with a spredbore holley in my 85 truck and have a street dom on the 88 440 truck with a edelbrock q-jet.

good throttle response, good performance, good mpg on both.

both are killer intakes for the street or daily driving.

kickdown linkage will be different..you should install the 4bbl set..2bbl is a 1 piece i believe... 4bbl is a 3 piece design

With automatic transmissions, there is the kickdown/throttle valve linkage to consider. I've often made these conversions and had to modify the 2 barrel stuff with some welding and minor fabrication work.

In this instance, it is a Manual transmission setup, but I have done the same in the past, fabricating a kickdown linkage to work with the 4bbl carb.

In any event, thanks for the reply.

Turns out.... That the engine in my New-to-Me Dodge W200 Power Wagon is a 360 2bbl. Still figure on adding a 4bbl though, but this should make things easier.
