I have always liked cars that were given names by their owners. The names usually had a reason/story behind them. I had been trying to come with a name for mine for quite awhile. A few months ago, this came to mind and pretty much sums up my frustrations over the years. I had always liked the 'Valiant Effort' moniker, but I wanted something original. Hopefully, this is original, as I have never seen it before. Share yours!!!

My Road Runner back in 1978-79. It's going to be painted up just like this, only with a modern chassis under it.

My Dad had a white 1957 Chrysler 300. - 392 hemi car. He referred to it as "Mody Dick" as in the movie with the same name. My brother raced it in stock form at Cordova drag strip in Illinois. Car ran 15.90 at 90 mph off the showroom floor using only first and second gear. Before he passed away in 97, he gave me his 1979 Chrysler 300. My intention was to sell it. Couldn't do it. I race it under the same name. To date that car has run 10.50 @ 128.38 mph with plenty left in it - if I ever get it sorted out. My Dad was a real car guy. He would be proud.

When I bought my Duster it said "Sticky Business" on the side...I was going to remove it until a friend said it sounded like a bad porn movie. It stuck..

Still remember as a kid seeing a 50 Olds at our local drive in hangout with the moniker

"Miss Carriage" nicely enscribed on each front fender behind their respective wheels. To this day the only handle on a car that I remember from those days.

Oops , just remembered a blue cheapest model 60 Chevy 335 hp, titled "Blue Lightening" that belonged to one of the older guys. Remembered the car well as it was always a contender in Super Stock class at our local Lincoln, Nebraska drag strip,,,once a military B 47 Air Force base runway.

Story was that he had purchased new with almost no money down and at the end of the season was repossessed as he had never made another payment on it.

Ours was named "FRUSTRATION" for obvious reasons. Usually the frustration is ours, but once and a while we get to frustrate others. The first time we fired up the max wedge engine (15 years ago or so), the STR-14 intake blew up and cracked. In my youthful inexperience, I mis-labeled the plug wires when I took them off the old running engine. I numbered them 1234 down the driver's side and 5678 down the pass side. In the interim of building the new engine, I figured our the actual firing order. Guess I forgot when I put it back together. Live and learn.

The Road Runner (purchased new by my grand father) has been called "The Chicken" short for thunder chicken, since 1969.
