Hey all ..

I searched posts before asking but could find a straight answer ...

Should a 14" rally trim ring on a 1970 Challenger be brushed or polished?
My car was built 3rd week of June 1970.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

Got me a NEW Project
1970 GTX 440+6, 4 spd, 4.10 Dana and N96 FE5 (top/bottom) and black bucket interior.
Original transmission and Dana - Engine is a service replacement block.

Body has all stamped #s + VIN/TRIM tag and door sticker. Been hunting like all hell to find the Build Sheet.

garage find, only had 41,850 miles on ODO.

A 14" trim ring would be brushed.

Thanks guys for the info ...

Now I have to find someone to restore the rings I have without making them polished.
They have a couple dings etc.. but are actually really nice set.

Do you all have any recommendations for a reputable business?

I was under the impression that the 70 rings were polished, and 71 brushed. Or just because they were 14" rings vs 15.

Hello Dan, Not a big deal but do you happen to know the part number for the 69 trim rings?

Dennis

Dan... I appreciate you posting the good '69 trim ring pic. I had heard they were different because of the lip but had not seen one in person or seen a good closeup pic.

Thanks.

I guess the nos ones that I bought this week still in the box for 375.00 wasn't too bad. I maybe selling the ones I have on the car now that are pretty darn good.
