Can someone tell me why aftermarket harmonic balancers are listed for big block and hemis for the same application. I dont have a factory balancer for my 426 hemi and want to get one for a good price. I see S.F.I balancers but the are listed for 440 and 426 hemi? Any info, ideas or people selling one let me know. THANKS

Aftermarket and new MOPAR crate motors use the thin 440 balancer. It seems to work OK, but you will need pulleys for a 440 to make em work.

the hemi used a different balancer, it was thicker and heavier. hence the pulleys for everything were in a different location, farther out from the engine. so if you use a stock balancer, you will need stock pulleys, reproduction or not.
