Okay so I have what maybe the first and only 600hp pump gas early a body with a viper 6 Spd had the car 8 years and have been developing it more along the way what question is I have been unable to run stock v8 rubber mounts with a torgue strap one mount always breaks so I machined some nice solid mounts and there are good and bad points to this setup what are your thoughts on mounts

I've always been a fan of factory rubber mounts (spool more than biscuit) with a quality torque strap. I did solid mounts once and tried all the different combos, didn't like them. After a solid/rubber combo and the solid started cracking, I gave up on them. I think if you want to really solid mount the engine, why not save yourself a lot of grief and do front and mid plate mounts? Then it's REALLY solid mounted AND you gain tons of clearance by knocking out the factory mounts on the engine and K-frame.

shumacher makes a replacement motor mount that uses their spool type poly mount. works with stock k frame.

any pics of your car / drive train details?

I'd seriously consider some custom k-member saddles to use the spool mounts.

Try urethane mounts with right and left side schumaker style torque straps.

You can make the left side fit the right side with a little brain work. This set up is run on a big block charger that runs really nice hot laps and it works.

I just don't get torque straps, they make a rubber mount solid basically. There has to be a better way.

Mopar to the bone!!!

The torque strap limits motion in one direction, not both like a solid mount.
