Ok. So what's needed to make a t400 work? Trans tunnel mods? Cross member fab?

Thanks for all the input thusfar.

Yes, and try to get a JW bell for it.

Damn. All this after I just got a new converter this year. How will a "built" 727 handle 900-1000 HP? And I'm kinda doubting anyone makes a way to bolt a TH400 to a new Hemi??

I think ATI makes a bell for their new 400 case to mate to a gen 3 HEMI.

Its not that a 727 can't be built to do this......but parts are limited and expensive. But the biggest drawback to 727s and big power is the lack of converter choices

Had a 727 when I was running 8.3's at 3600 lbs, wouldn't hold on the brake spooling when I tried to launch under lots of boost and was on borrowed time at that hp level. Sold it before it came apart while it was still worth money and went to an extreme automatics TH400.
Best money ever spent.

Lonnie builds a killer 400...

just out of curiosity, what's the weight difference between the 727 & TH400?

Way more clutches for holding in a TH400. The 727 is an efficient trans and brutally simple but the bands can only be so big and the front and rear clutch drums only so deep.

Mopar to the bone!!!
