Just curious what people think.. What is the most sought after 440 HP block..? doesn't have to be six pack.. just the year of the block...and your experiance in finding one?

From my experience it would be a 70HP.

but personaly I got a 1968 440 HP with the complete subframe. All pieces from radiator to transmission. for $150.oo not a bad price by the way all date coded and correct. But it is siezed. still a good core find for the price.

hey Rich..Does this mean the 70 Block Just went up in value...lol! not to discredit the F Hp I would say a dated E 440 hp for an A12 car would be more sought after, in most cases they seem to have higher value than 70 V-codes cars. But the real sought after would be ones #'s matchings for thier ride. (not fun to drive)

In terms of the largest volume of cars that would benefit from a 'date correct' (not saying thats a big benefit) it would probably be an F440 HP or HP2 (as we all know the 2 doesn't matter).

I've got a 70 HP in my 71 Charger R/T. I'm just not that impressed.

It is still a toss up since my numbers 70 hp is missing... do I use a early 70 hp or a later 71 hp one. the later one is warranty non vin stampped block . Or use the earlier one that is stamped 0b with a non matching vin...my car build date was april 69... both are at my disposal

'71 440HP is a considerably rare block, rarest by far of '67-'71 HP blocks.

1970 car, built April '69 ???

Use the F440 HP, that's why I gave you a deal on it.

If you decide not to use it I call dibs

Are the VIN#s from both these blocks listed in the MOPARTS ENG & TRANS lost & found or are they both known dead & gone?
I have '70 440HP out of a Coronet 0A165194, what's your last "8"?

I'd have to say the 1971, G 440 HP (2),is of course alot harder to find, and therefore the more valuable, in my opinion .

If you are concerned about which one makes a better motor, Dan Dvorak told me the 72 and up castings are usually a bit better than the earlier ones - better bore concentricity, and such.
