John_Kunkel Too Many Posts Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 25,936 Rio Linda, CA	Assuming a fresh converter, pour one quart in the converter and eight in the trans (assuming deep pan) then start up with the shifter in Neutral then warm it up, run it through the gears and top off to the FULL mark on dipstick. I like to have the rear wheels elevated during first warmup. Should take 10-12 quarts total depending on converter/cooler size. The INTERNET, the MISinformation superhighway

440Jim I Live Here Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 16,929 NC	I agree. Start with around 8 or so depending on converter size, line size, cooler size, pan size. I wouldn't be surprised if completely dry parts needed more than 9.
