If I just have the shortblock assembled (with cam)
how do I know if I am at TDC on the #1 piston. I can line up the balancer to 0 but how do I know if the piston is TDC on the combustion stroke or exhaust stroke? Thanks.

The cam lobe of the intake on #1 will be on the base circle of the cam.
