i have a 71 cuda grand coupe with the same thing. only my plungers were black. this is something i found from GM parts. i think they are from a 80's astro van. you would have to bend the tabs at 90* but they might work. the GM part # is 15674628. the plunger is dark gray and is plastic.

Good info and better than using the metal plunger for sure... A metal switch will take the paint off the door quick... ...I have what's left of my originals{white switches} and the special plastic guards but have'nt found NOS replacements either...
