I was wondering what would need to be done here, if one had a 426 hemi block with the B/RB motor mounts on it, can these be used with stock exhaust manifolds or headers? Any other clearance issues? I was told , no. they would be in the way and that I would need to cut off the ears and have the block spot faced and drilled in the area where the normal hemi mounts would be. The block was never machined or drilled for hemi mounts. My understanding is you can use the B/RB mounts in a regular K/Frame but what good are they if you can't use them? I don't want to run a motor plate either. Advise?

What did you guys do to get around this? Does anyone sell of make a mount that will work? If it does need to be spot faced and drilled, how is this accomplished so that it is done in the correct area on the pad of the block?

I searched the archives, and I'm new to this...go easy on me

Thanks.

I thought there was one brand of headers that would fit, hopefully someone else will know which ones. If it were mine and no headers did fit I would buy a set and have the one pipe on each side modded as necesary (run it out the front and down through that triangle hole in the K-member on each side).
I just did the opposite on my Challenger, I welded up a "Mickey Mouse" mount for the drivers side and welded up a bracket to use a wedge isolator on the psgr side on the stock wedge K-member with a Hemi block. My Hooker 5210's fit like a glove (after spending a weekend fixing the port alignment).

I have that block in my 70 cuda with factory mounts and hooker super comp headers with no modifications. It even has power steering on it. Mike
