.960" 165 lb/in P5249158 H.D V8 Handling
1.000" 180 lb/in P5249159 Solo & Road Racing
1.120" 250 lb/in P5249160 H.D. Solo & Road + 1/4,1/2 oval
1.160" 300 lb/in P5249161 Circle Track
1.220" 350 lb/in P5249162 Circle Track

I googled the part numbers and two site have them for sale: tascaparts.com and moparamerica.com

Are these scam sites? They don't look fake though..telephone number, ebay store, real address...

What do you think?

Interesting.
They also seem to list the A-body bars.

I've just shot them an email with inquiry for the A-body 1.09" and 1.14" bars, p52491554/P5249155.

Just got a (to be expected) reply;
- They're not available. 'Extended back order from Mopar'.

They are smoking something. The only bars available on that list are the P5249158s the rest were discontinued years ago. Yes they are in stock at the moment.

Hmm, Tasca is usually good people, too.
Bummer that they've got them up even though you can't get them.

Typical. They grab a catalog and upload everything in it. Many times they will not even check availability. When someone orders the part they check with their vendor and find out it isn't available.
However, they will leave it on their site to draw in buyers. You find the awesome ad, put one in your "shopping cart" and surf their site for other stuff to save on shipping. Once you load up on other stuff and place the order they hope you'll buy the other stuff despite a back order.

It's the sneaky and dirty way of making sales in the modern world. Think of it as bait and switch.
It's EXTREMELY common when dealing with aftermarket wheels.

Just wondering...

What kind of costs would be involved when you'd have a good number of say 1.25" bars forged up in rough form, only to be (CNC) machined, cut and ground down to a customers desired diameter, length and end clocking?

That could get pricey. You're talking about a grinder with a 1-1/2 meter range of movement.
The bars would need to be larger than 1.25" in diameter. That measurement is across the flats, not the points.

A forged bar would have to start out almost 2-1/2" in diameter and be machined down. It would likely be cold rolled. and you're talking about grinding away about 75% of the steel. The bar would likely need to be supported with a following rest during the machining to prevent sagging. Without that support the bar would be fatter in the middle.

I dunno. Ask Dick Ross, he could probably answer that since he makes a lot of torsion bars. Or maybe these guys could answer it you; http://www.kdkforging.com/torsion_bars.php

If I had to take a stab at it, I'd guess it costs about $75 per bar for a quantity run of 40-50 pieces. If you only want to make 3,4, or 5 pairs, it may be upward of $250-300 a bar.

I've got a set of JustSuspension 1" bars in my Dart now but I would be willing to upgrade to 1.12".
Noticed JS has upped the price for the Abody bars with $50 since I got them last year.

I wonder how long it would take before some China-made torsionbars hit the market for say $89.50 a set and a spare bar orso... )

I would be in for any bar between 1.12 and 1.24

Was thinking the same thing about Chinese bars. There seems to be quite a big potential market for larger than stock and affordable bars.

I know this hobby is expensive but c'mon torsion bars not much more than simple round steel bars - $350 for two steel bars is just too much in my eyes.

I personally hate Chinese products and try to keep it at a minimum on my cars as some things are unavoidable. The last thing I would want to run are Chinese wheels or suspension components as it could be a compromise to safety. I understand that people have limited budgets, but I would not want to cut corners on a highly stressed part just to save a few dollars
