That GTX is gonna be awesome. The 70 Dodge looks like a Coronet R/T (solid stripe) Super Bee would have the Super Bee insignia in the stripe.

...and it also has the R/T only side scoops and the R/T badge on the front of the hood.

This car is beautiful. I love seeing this car being restored as I'm a little partial to B5 GTX's. That color can look really light or really dark depending on the lighting the pictures are taken in. Mine too is an LA built car, and has the small font tag. I wonder if the stamping was random or was it changed over halfway through production as mine has a SPD of April. Do you plan on putting the stripes back on? I see it is also not coded for chrome tips. Do you know if this car was sold in CA? Yours is coming along much faster than mine, but lately I've been dragging my feet on finishing it. These pics get me fired up to try to finish it up this spring. Great job and keep up the great pics!

Thanks for the positive comments. What I have come up with from past registrations and owners is that the car was a San Jose CA car that moved with the long time owner to Arizona and then to Nevada where I found it. It will be getting the white side stripes and it had exhaust tip brackets so it's getting some nos tips. It also had a six way seat adjuster that I am putting back in. Those are the two things that are not on the tag but were with the car when I got it so they are going back on. I believe they were both on the car from day one. When it comes to the tags, as far as I know the LA plant had two machines that made the tags. One with the smaller font and one with the regular font. Over the years I have seen probably about a 50-50 split with the tags.

It took a while but I finally got the alignment done today. Just needs a few small bugs worked out. Went through a major set back and had to pull the engine back out after thinking it was ready to go the first time. Turned out that the major culprit was the Competition Cams timing chain and gear set had the markings wrong on the gear from them. I would recommend not using their gear set. Put in a Cloyes gear set and the problem was solved. Kind of takes the wind out of your sales trying to chase down things like that. Thanks to the help of a few friends Dave M. and Russ U. it's about wrapped up.

GTX- Original California sheet metal was pretty much rust free along with all suspension components. The car must have spent most of it's life in a garage when it was parked.

Engine compartment. All major parts are original to the car. Had to find a carb (4739s) and brake booster.
