here's an idea that might make that transition work for you.

willys had a chrome belt line moulding on some models
but they are pricy.

when I did my willys 4x4 years ago I just bought a glue on body moulding(about 3/4" wide) that came on a roll it had 2 pointed ends that i used at the front.

i think this let you make the hood line up with the doors

I got mine from a auto paint store but I have seen then at places like pep boys or Kragans

Little more progress the last couple weeks, made up a grille, hood mounted, headlight bezels mounted, wiring is done, windshield in. Getting close.
