This is one I have in the shop for the time being.
Real V code RT/SE 4 spd ( originally an auto) FJ5 black leather int, pwr discs and steering and it's a power window car. 4.10 Dana car

Owner lives pretty close to me so I haven't been taking a whole lot of pictures along the way.

With no problems it will roll out of the shop early next week under it's own power,, for the 1st time since about 1994 .
I've been on a pretty strick budget so a restoration was not in the plans.
There-for I call it more of a resurection instead.
Getting it close to looking stock to the casual observer has been the end goal from the very beginning.
But making it a trailer queen is and always has been, out of the question. He has no interest in garage art just to stare at. It's a driver ,,like it should be.
Owner has a matching numbers 1970 Hemi Cuda he drives on a very regular basis. And he has no problem hammering on it when the feeling hits him. And this car will be no exception.

This is what it looked like when it was dropped off to me.

Here is a picture I sent him yesterday.
I am going to do some detailing under the hood( shock washers as an example) but for the most part he plans to do his own detailing over the winter

He was stoked when he stopped in and saw this.

Dont know yet.
tires on it are junk and new ones just showed up this afternoon. It goes in for exhaust 1st of next week .
But I had it running for a while monday to break the cam in and it sounds REAL good.
Shortblock is actually a 1965 426 wedge with closed chamber heads with just the slightest bit of port work. and we figure it has about 9.5 compression .
Cam is a comp cam 270 470 so it has a pretty tame idle
Induction setup is all brand new from Sixpack Performance, intake to air cleaner.

Well,
Today was a very good day.

About 3 pm today , it moved under it's own power for the 1st time since approx 1994.

Cars owner was pumped to say the least .

Weather permitting, It goes out tomorrow for a little test drive / shake down run. Then bring it back in and go over a few things, then maybe a longer test drive will be in order

Picture of the interior,,,other than the carpet I believe it's all original. It cleaned up pretty nice . It has some splits in the drivers seat but overall presents itself very well.

A parting shot.

He fired it up and drove it home sunday afternoon

It's far from perfect , exterior wise nothing changed. It does have a tad bit of rust in the lower quarter right behind the door,,,,,,,But He plans to drive the snot out of it just the way it is as time allows. Maybe next year or so we'll address the rust and do a exterior repaint. The exterior was painted in 1986 and has not been touched since.

Although I will probably get it back in the next month or so to address a few bugs ,,( I think I have a valve cover leaking on the drivers side,,,not real impressed with the so called improved style gaskets )

Irregardless,,,,,,,,,He was all giddy when he left in it.
