I am looking to find the curb weight of a 1978 Dodge Power Wagon 150 - 6' sweptline bed - 318 engine. I am told by the owner it has a GVW of 6200#. Does anybody know where to locate the curb weight? or how to calculate it?

I am looking at transporting it about 500 miles to my house on a car hauler and would prefer not to use a dolly. The car haulers from uhaul have a 4000# weight limit. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

would he run it across some scales at a landfill or recycler. That'd give you the actual weight.

It is probably closer to 5000 lbs, I'd try to get a heavy duty trailer and a heavy duty 3/4 or 1 ton tow vehicle. I towed a 70 charger r/t on a u haul trailer and the u haul place almost would'nt rent it.

I hauled some gravel with my 78 last spring and I think my empty weight was 4700lbs. Its a short bed auto with a 360. Shouldn't be much difference if any.
