I'm in CA but will be going to Nevada tomorrow and plan to buy paint at Summit.

They sell the basecoat I'm looking at in either a 3.5 low VOC, or not.

Is the low VOC any harder to spray/apply than the regular? Do they have different hiding/coverage characteristics?

I would think that the regular (non low VOC) would be better somehow, just don't know how. They are basically the same price.

anyone?

The only thing I found, was on summit's material saying that the low VOC was easier to clean up.

Right now, Summit has the stuff I want in stock for the regular (non-low voc) so I guess that's what I'm getting anyways, unless I change my mind on color at the last second after looking at the color chips.

Not sure if it sprays any different. Could be thicker in comparison. Just add more reducer to make it spray easier. More reducer will up the voc. Maybe the only difference between the two is the reduction. It is probably the same paint. Remember 75% overlap when spaying basecoat.
