This mess started on my way home from work. All the dome lights stayed on. Though I had a switch out of place, but no. The only dome(?) light that is out is on the drivers door. As of now I have the dome lights shut off. it's a royal pain, because the windows won't go down at all. Can anyone help??? Thanks...Curt

Done light ground through the switches. You only need one switch to short out for all the lights to stay on, or for one wire in the dome light circuit to have the insulation scrapped off and shorted to ground.

If you have one light that doesn't work, that might be the place to start.

I assume the power windows are on the same fuse as the dome lights? Otherwise, I don't understand why the windows don't function just because the dome lights stay on. Gene

No the dome lights are on a constant feed fused circuit and the windows are on a keyed fuse circuit. Common problems are in the door jamb area of the harness.

Drivers door jamb has broken or the coating scraped up on some of the wires and is grounding to the jam.

Fix it before it catches fire... when my wifes 04 had the same issue I fixed the wires and wrapped a piece of plastic wire loom over it before putting it back in rubber boot. the cause is opening the door too far the wires rub hole where they go into the door..

Dug into the problem this am. Found a black wire broken. I repaired that and now I have power to the door locks and mirrors. Still no joy on getting the windows to go up or down. Now another problem came up. On our way home from the wife's company picnic, the AC quit. The temp numbers on the overhead console are nothing but two dashes. I checked the relays under the hood, they seem good. The blower motors and the temp switches still work and light up. Is there a fuse for my windows other than the one under the hood? and where is it????

The overhead (outside temp)display and your a/c not working are 2 different things..unless I'm reading that wrong.

For the A/C, verify that your flapper valve in the heater box is working properly. Common problem on WJ Grand Cherokees. Google will give you lots of reading/solution.
