I have a Carter Mechanical Fuel pump (part number M6903) on my 440. I just recently swapped the 440 in to my car and started hammering out the details. The stock fuel line from the pump to the carb doesn't work out. The fitting threads in to the pump but there is nothing in there to bottom the hard line out on to seal it up (if that makes since). It looks like it was intended for a hose barb or AN Fitting. I want to use the orginal style hard line from the pump to the carb, is there any way I can do it with this fuel pump? Is there an adapter I can thread in to the pump to adapt it to the stock style fuel line? http://www.streetperformance.com/part/carter-products/fuel-pump-mechanical/118899-m6903.html

hi
you need a 1/4in pipe to inverted flare fitting for the pump, if your using 5/16 line the Edelmann no. is 124540, Weatherhead no. 202x5x4 or 3/8 line Edelmann 124640 or Weatherhead 202x6. hope this helps.

take a trip to your local parts store. Take the pump and fuel line. They have plenty of fitting that will help you make it all work.

I used the fitting for a hose on the inlet side, and a 3/8 flared fuel line fitting on the outlet side. I picked those both up at Mancini Racing (but it helps that I only live about 5 miles fom Mancini). Any decent auto parts store should have the fitings for you.

These guys might be able to hook you up with a local dealer that carries what you need...

Holyoke Fittings

I called them to find out a local dealer that had everything I needed for my Edelbrock carb/vapor separator/Holley pump combo.
