Isn't Spectrum fuel tanks the best reproduction fuel tanks out there in the market now?

I was told that the Spectrum tanks were the best and made in Canada. All the others are Chinese. I need to order one soon.

I just bought a stamped stainless one for my a12 for $198 shipped to my door. Very nice tank and great price. It was an ebay item. Shipped promptly with no issues. yet to install it, but compared to my friends super bird tank we just replaced a month earlier, it was spot on.

I would be real interested in knowing how this works out! have you done a leak test on it?

no, but the welds are super nice.

If you want a pure OEM look, you can't beat Spectrum. My thoughts was that with todays gas, it won't last but around 10 or so years.

I just helped a friend change out his tank in a superbird. He had replaced his once before. After we were done, he said he'd put in a stainless one if they made an OEM looking one. I posted the question on here, and someone sent me a link to the ones on ebay.

After changing the one out in the bird, I'm thinking....I don't ever want to have to do this again knowing that most of the gas here in MO has ethanol in it and premium above 91 is hard to find...most being 89.

So, anyway, I opted for a stainless one and will use a stainless sending unit as well....but will try and make sure to get a quality unit on that too...cause i was thinking there was an issue with them at one time. I won't have mine in until next year.

not real concerned with absolute OEM look so if this works i'm in. if you're looking for a correct reading sending unit then this group buy is what you're looking for. not stainless though.

Where are you guys buying the Spectrum gas tanks?
A Google search only turns up a company called Spectra.
The ebay stainless tank mentioned above says the tank is manufactured in Taiwan.

I believe Spectra Premium are the good Canadian tanks people are referring to. Got mine for a great price from Rock Auto. Nice part.

Simply Google Spectra gas tanks, and you'll get lotsa hits for sellers.

Went with the Spectra and am very pleased. As far as longevity goes....we can still get non-ethanol fuel here and the original tank lasted for 40 years so I'm hoping to have it last until 2050 or so...

We put a spectra in a 73 B Body 2 door. It fit, but the factory tank straps wouldn't make up with it. it was a situation where it was off just enough to not work. We bought the associated spectra straps and did not like them compared to the factory.

We wound up slightly modifying the factory straps and used longer J bolts to get the thing started and it finally went together. not a perfect fit, but 90%

I hadn't even realized they've been repopping in stainless, thanks for the info. Too bad there's nothing for my app - 74-76 B/440. CR21A is a regular steel tank Spectra makes for me but i sure do wish it was stainless. or even plastic

Yes, it's the best in my opinion. It's what we sell.

The Spectra tanks I have gotten also have the correct natural finish. There are some brands that paint the tank silver/gray which is incorrect

A couple years ago when I needed a new tank for my '71 Challenger, the best price I found on a Spectra tank was Rock Auto, using the current discount code. It was delivered to my doorstep within 2 days too!
