I was going to have the body shop do a sprayout to match the dip primer before the body was blasted but that didn't happen. I'm trying to find out what single stage paint to use that closely matches a Hamtramck built 68 Dart. Here are some pictures to ponder.

This is under the fuel tank and it was taken with a flash.

This is the bottom side of the battery tray. It looks a lot darker then the area covered by the fuel tank.

I found this picture on here that more closely matches what's under the battery tray.

This picture looks similar to the area under the gas tank.

Anyone have a brand and paint code for the correct looking paint?

I did the pic you have there .
I prefer epoxy primer as it dries hard . 2 parts grey 1 part black .
Plus you can lighten or darken to your preference.

Thanks for the pics. I assume that when base/clear is used on the top, a single stage is used for the overspray affect? I think that's how Mike Ross did his pink T/A.

How are the inner sides of the front frame rails done? They will get painted with the engine compartment but at the same time, they fade out towards the torsion bar x-member. Some clear coat will get on the dip primer won't it? Won't that give an unwanted affect?

I'll also look into the RestoRick paint. Thanks for the link.
