Aurora, Oh.
Can't believe the County will not work with them but wish them well whatever they do. I'm sure that track generates many $$$$$$ for the whole community!!

I don't understand why the businesses that are benefiting from the economy Norwalk provides aren't beating on the desk at the County Commissioners Court. Lots of small business impacted if they move 20+ miles from their current location.

We pretty much had the same thing here. The Steel Valley nats were always in Boardman.Yeah the buisness people loved all the $$$.But the county and people in a few places did nothing but complain. There was never really any problems. The promoters told them to shove it up their a--.They moved to Quaker and the city of Salem opened their arms to the people. They have cruises downtown etc. They have to make a bundle when its running.I guess they know where the $$$$ is.Rocky

Norwalk will be screaming bloody murder IF or When
they move out.. I would think they could get this
figured out to benefit all of them... is that airport
run by the city or county

The airport is owned by the county, but it is almost impossible to close an exsisting airport as they are controlled by the federal govt. good luck trying to deal with them

Closing an airport is not impossible – typically what happens is the airport is deemed unsafe and de-certified – this usually is a result of lack of funding of which Norwalk’s airport is now facing – as the county no longer is funding the place and it must rely on hangar rental and fuel sales. Coincidentally the FAA wants deferred maintenance completed before they will issues permits allowing Bader to access the airport for traffic flow a few times a year. Basically what we have here is a case of grandstanding on all sides. My Money is on Billy getting his way eventually as Norwalk does not need an airport with the Sandusky airport up the road. John Force does not call Billy the P.T. Barnum of Drag racing for nothing! He is a very smart and at times a ruthless businessman when you threaten his path
