Hope I'm not opening a can of worms with this post.It is time to buy the transmission for my 69 Bee.Its going to be a 5 speed, now after contemplating all options TKO,passon gear vendors etc.For me the TKO makes the most sense. So lets not turn this into a wich is better post.

Its going behind a 5.7 Hemi with a mild cam upgrade and headers, not a fire breathing monster just something you can drive anywhere. Now Keisler is out who has used American powertrain or Hurst conversions?Any reason to use one ove the other?Better hydraulics, crossmember design etc.And if you have used them are you happy with the final product? Thanks guys

I don't own any of them, but your question begs the reply: WHY aren't you considering Passon?
Better hydraulics? Passon uses stock clutch linkage. No changes needed. Passon uses a stock bellhousing.
Better crossmember? Passon bolts in in place of the A-833. No crossmember changes needed.

You cannot say that about the others.

Board members are driving Passon 5-speeds right now.

So why don't you go that way?

R.

I do not have any of the components for the transmission.I work in auto parts so I get a discount on most of the pieces. So for this project if I use one of Jamie's transmissions at $4500 plus the bell plus the clutch etc..its going to be around $7700 total. The tremec will be about $4000.

This car will not be raced just a cruiser. My Challenger IS getting a passon it is a far better trans as this car is run on the autocross.Purely economics on this one.
