Currently run a 275/60R15 Hoosier (radial)28" tall
What would I see if I went to a 30x9 (radial) measure at 29.5" .I have 8" rims .
I know the rear effective ratio will change slightly .
I presume the 60' will drop and the MPH should pick up . Possibly help a little with traction , bigger footprint .
Any other things to think of ?
Car is a 68 Satellite , I will have to check a 30x9 will fit without touching the dogleg .
Weight on Saturday was 3657lbs with me in it , and I am a pretty skinny son of a gun
I have had traction issues the last 2 rounds , it has been low 50's/40'sF cold. I dropped 2psi and softened rear shock 1 click on Saturday had 2 spins and 1 turn of the tyres .
thanks for all the help

Tex

For what its worth I went from a 28 x 10 slick to 29.5 x 10.5 slick and it did not change either 60 fts,mph or et,or even consistency for that matter.Really ,no change at all.

Tex I run the 30 x 9 Hoosier radial slick and I like them. I am actually running them on a 7" steelie now as when I had them on the 8" wheel they would rub up inside the 1/4 when I hit bumps with a passenger in the car. They were to far out as my 7" wheels moved the wheel in some and it fits centered in my stock wheelwell now. It really depends on your combo if you will see any change. I am running 4.30's with them and they seem to work good with the 4.30's. The car hooks good with the 7" wheels as the last time out on them it pulled a 1.50 sixty which is my best and ran 10.76 three passes in a row. The car hooked good all day on them tires on the 7" wheel. These are the 7" wheels in this pic. Ron
