on a small block 340. built for street. got the bright idea to install a hi-vol oil pump when we put engine back together. also used the original oil pan. now i keep hearing i should keep my foot out of it because i will drain the oil pan at high rpm if im not careful and consequently , blow the engine. oil pressure is about 25 at idle and 80-90 at 6000 rpm. if you recommend changing the pan then , is there an oil pan available that is stock looking which has a larger capacity?
thanks for any advise you might have and thanks for the great site.

Ain't going to happen. I would recommned a windage tray if you don't already have one.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

go to www.moparchat.com then scroll down to & click on circle track chat & read thru Sanborns oiling mods that are in a sticky at the top of the page. imo the countries foremost small block oiling expert. It'll take you several hours to get thru & sort out everything.
