I think I have found my pick up!! Found a 75 w100 with straightest body I've ever seen(I'm only 24 I think). I have a 78 d100 and now I want a 4wd. I can't pass this one up so to make it fit in my plans of a cummins conversion what's entailed to making it half or one ton? I'm planning on lifting it, I want it a good step or more a leap to get into.
So plans so far are get the truck home and get it running as a half ton, find dana 60s front and rear, hopefully find a 12 valve with nv4500 and other donor parts for that. Am I missing anything here? Any input of better options than I listed?
Any interior upgrades I should do? What bench seat will fit in the back instead of the jump seats?

The 1/2 ton frame isn't made for a CTD

1/2 ton frames are lighter than a 3/4 ton?

Diesels are ALL 1 ton no matter what the badge says. Yes the frames are lighter but Numerous have done the swap. Best to find a Donor Truck and if the same wheelbase Just swap your body over but Not a must.

yes, the 1/2 ton frames are a lighter gauge, and not as tall as the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.

But there have been many CTD swaps into Ramchargers which also use the lighter frame.

Find a 1st gen Cummins truck with a beat body and swap them. You can swap in the NV trans from a newer truck or if you get an intercooled 1st gen you can convert a 518 to a lockup converter. You will need to modify the core support for the radiator and intercooler.
