just out of curiosity what would some 14" oval dynomax ultra flows sound like on a mild 318? by mild I mean ported 302 casting heads, 600cfm holley 4bbl, 444 lift purple shaft cam, engine bored .030 over in a 84 D150. the truck will have true duel 2 1/4 or (maybe 2 1/2) exhaust with 4" angle cut echo tips. just wondering if the good ole 318 can fill out the ultra flows. I've seen lots of vids on youtube with them on engines with big cams which sound awesome, but none with stock to mild cams.

My muffler on my 2 bbl 318 in my 65 dart developed a hole & it sounded tough & turned heads like I had something built under there. Go for it!

Not sure the question but why not use them? I'm guessing some folks would think your 318 sounds like a beast and others not so much? Who cares, have fun.

I used the longer Hemi super turbos on my 318 and got many compliments on how it sounded. This was after driving it for about a year. Right out of the box I was a little disappointed at how quite it was, but that changed with time.

With big pipes it would probably sound like a dump truck, but if you keep the pipes small enough it may not. It would probably sound surprisingly good with 2 1/2 inch and turbo mufflers.

I had 2 inch duals with glasspacks on a car with a 273, and it actually sounded pretty good.

put them bad boys on Less exhaust restriction frees up HP and helps the gas mileage 2.5 inch pipes are way better than smaller ones like stock or 2 1/4

I might still do it, I was just curious as to if the 318 will fill them out and not sound hollow or as quiet as my moms Toyota corolla

On my 360, it has a nice deep, but not by any means loud, sound cruising down the road, but when you open it up, it sounds absolutely fantastic!

I think it will sound good. a larger pipe(2.5") will give you a deeper sound a smaller pipe(2") will will give you a rappy/poppy(for lack of a better word) sound.

thanks for the replys I also been looking at the Flow Pro Max which seems to be the same style muffler ( cheaper version) as the ultra flow. I've ran mostly glass packs all my life on my rigs, every length from 12" to 36" glass packs, which I still like but we'll just have to see what the muffler shops price options are when I get to that stage.
