I'm having issues reaching full throttle with my stock pedal assembly in my 64 dodge. We added a longer pivot arm to the cable side so it could achieve greater stroke but the whole unit seems to twist and bend not allowing the secondaries to fully open. What pedal types are all you guys using for dual quads with stiff springs ?

Are you using Enderle linkage on the t-ram? Are you running out of room on the cable portion?

Can we see some detail pictures of the linkage? Does this engine still have the Victor heads?

Goodwin builds fast motors what is that thing running these days? Looking good!

Here is a picture of my altered pedal that isn't doing the job. Linear stroke is ok but both sides of arm flex when approaching secondaries

The cable height is set so it can achieve full throttle going past center. As you can see my mounting bracket has 2 locations, the top 1 is parallel so the cable works smoother. Linkage actuation is smooth but as I stated the pedal assembly starts flexing when the carb secondary’s are introduced. Each carb has 2 lightweight return springs mounted off carburetor base.

I would start by beafing up the upright-level on the pedal assy. by using thicker material, an angle iron or even better/stronger, a square tubed lever perhaps.

I added a few photos showing my set up
No more victor heads, Todd built us a 572 wedge with his version of -13 heads. He is fantastic to work with. Still sorting out all the bugs

Go back to the stock pedal assembly and then simply adjust the lever ratio on the carb linkage until you get enough travel to get wide open throttle. No sense re-inventing the wheel here. The stock setup works great when it's right.

How many return springs are you guys running with dual quads? Are they inline with linkage or mounted on carbs?

What I did on my 63 was carefully bend the gas pedal rod (the part with the roller that touches the gas pedal) Up some to give more pedal travel as that was my problem. Gave me full throttle then. Ron

Stock pedal here too. Two return springs on single carburetor.

I don't have a picture at work, but I run 3. 2 on the rear carb mounted to a bracket off the carb and going to the throttle bellcrank in the traditional way, and the same setup with one spring on the front. Any one of them could shut the throttle but they are all light. My cable runs to the front carb (they are inline facing forward, edelbrock 1407s) and the linkage connects the two. I'm assuming you extended the pedal to get more travel out of it, can do that just as easily by shortening the lever where it attaches to the linkage.

Mines stock 2 inline 1407, no issue. Stock geometry.

If that is the braided lokar cable you need to ditch that cable. they flex and streach under pressure.

Been there and done it. if you shorten the throw enough on th carbs to get wide open you have very stiff pedal.

On my new tunnel ram I did the linkage like most of the SS/AH cars. flip the front carb around, use a bellcrank and a stock cable. I get wide open on both carbs without having to mod the pedal, and its the easiest smoothest linkage i have ever had. I will never go back to the enderle stuff.

This is the latest linkage, won't go back to the other way.
