Hey all!

So I am collecting and installing the components for the lighting options package and I can't find a NOS, original or reproduction trunk light. I have the power lead in the trunk and all the mounting holes are there so I just need the light but I can't find one.

This car calls for the light with the built-in mercury/gravity switch since there is no trunk plunger and only a single power wire.

Anyone have any ideas where I can find one?

-Steve

Yes, I think you are right. I saw two auctions last week but I let them go. I will pay closer attention this week.

One thing about Ebay...Don't be in a hurry and you'll get a better deal...See what they're going for now and try to get the best price for the condition...I've seen alot of "ebody trunk lights" that were'nt the correct piece... Tagging it as an ebody piece will jump the price to the unknowing buyer...

I find that sometimes using the oem part# will help in an online/ebay/google parts search. Parts books show #2947516 for '70 e body, and #3488436 for '71-'74 e bodies.

Doing a quick Google search with the part numbers I found this one available;

I am not up on pricing, that one is high?

moparfan53,

Its a little high but I am more concerned with the connectors. My wiring diagrams show a single lead from the light and in the trunk I see a single lead. Today, I am going to check that lead for power and pay closer attention to the shape of the connector.

Thanks for the search, I came up empty when I searched.

Steve, send me an email or call if interested. I restore these. Most of the ones shown on Ebay lately are from C or B bodies noted as E body. Nobody ever tries to sell a C or B body radio as an E body radio on Ebay, either.

Steve,
There are 2 numbers one for 70 & one for 71, there is a difference. I have both & they are original totally restored ones with original connectors & correct NOS GE bulb. The 2 different ones will be listed & with correct numbers on them. yes they are pricey but 100 % correct original. Bmcuda.com

BMCUDA,

Thanks for the response. Its amazing how one seemingly insignificant part can be so expensive and difficult to find sometimes! Its good to know you have them.

I will probably do like most others and buy two broken/incorrect ones on Ebay before I spend the money with you and get the right one. I apologize in advance for how my brain-damaged mind works!
