anyway I pull street stock once in awile with a 1976 ford f250 390 4 speed wich I have really been toying around with building. I also am thinking about ditching the ford motor and putting a 440 in it because I think its possible ford and dodge both used a np435. so im kinda wondering if the bell housing from the dodge would bolt to it id probably have to use a ford clutch. make my own motor mounts my one ford buddy who pulls thinks its a interesting idea. also gotta get some 5.30 gears that's happening anyway

All I can say is measure, measure, measure. I have no problems with crossbreds, but hate it when they are hacked together. Do a nice job if your going to go through with it. And prepare to get a cold shoulder from both camps. People aren't as open minded as they should be IMO.

Do some research if you can to make sure the bolt pattern on the trans is the same, see if the input shafts are the same or do you have enough length to reach the end of the 440 crank, check input shaft pilot bushing/bearing areas for any size difference, think about exhaust manifold/headers, where does the clutch fork come out on the Mopar bell Vs. the Ford, are the forks the same length, can you make the linkage work and not be a cobbled mess, can you get a throw out bearing to fit the trans and mopar fork---or are the front bearing retainers the same between both?

There is quite a bit IMO to think and plan for. Anything is doable, with will determination and some know how. PM me for more.

Outcast Dodge guy.

The only thing the Ford NP 435 and the Dodge NP 435 share is the internals. The cases are different, input shaft is different, output is different. If your going to go the 440 route you will need the 440 bell ($$$$) and a Dodge NP 435,, custom build motor mounts ect.

I am truckless..

They don't allow cross breeding in stock classes here? Do your rules allow?
