Call your preferred convertor company and tell them your combo and they will tell you the best one for your application. I like PTC and Kenny Ford is a Mopar guy.

I run a Lupo-Dynamic that was custom built for my combo. The guys at Dynamic were great to work with. As said above, your best bet is going to be to call a converter company and talk to them about what you're doing. They should help you. While you're at it..... lose the hyd. roller.

I'll ask... why dump the hyd roller... have you ever run one... I have a solid roller in my street ride and plan on a hyd roller.. if I stay with this engine

Project Orange Monster #4 is underway
This motor will be a RB 505ci with E RPM heads, hyd roller, Indy dp intake, 3:23 gear 3450 pounds with me in it. 90% street driven
What stall would be good for this combo??
Thanks
Whats the duration on the cam?? Comp??
With todays much more efficient verts, you can get away with alot more stall if needed.
If your cam is small a stock OE vert will work, or for more stall a stock SB 727 vert.
You stated, "Orange Monster" so I guess you want it to be a Sleeper that runs like a Monster.
So I would get a Dynamic 9.5" vert 3800 to 4200. Super vert that works with alot of combos street and strip, IMO. Around $600

He has a 9.5" now.. they are gonna tighten it up some.. that will be way less than $600

Because I believe its the lowest bang per buck you could choose. You're going to be into it well over a grand for just cam & lifters, and chances are it wont perform on par with a solid flat tappet at a third of the cost. I'm sure it will work just fine and if money is no object, fire away. Just considering how much you will spend, its not the direction I'd go with a big-inch RB.
So you have never run one... and your just guessing on the performance aspect... I'm well aware of the price end of it but I think it would be fine for my street/strip SB
Since you're being picky, Mike... I'll point out that I never said it wouldn't work. It will obviously work just fine. "working just fine", as you said, isn't quite what I would hope for when spending that kind of money. Thats my point, and its a point that would be shared by many.
Back to the OP, I'm glad you found a good solution for the converter question! sounds like you'll have a converter tailored to your combo for a very reasonable cost!

Why would I spend 600 bucks when PTC will freshen up and adjust the stall for my new engine combo on my current torque converter for less than half of 6 bills
Even though my post was 29 minutes after yours, I did not see that you had a 9.5 Vert already. There was no info on that as I saw.
If its a Dynamic 9.5 your golden, I dont think you need to do anything. Those Verts are pretty dan tight until you romp on them good.
I wouldnt waste any money tightening it up. Unless it needs refreshed or something.

Since I'm being picky.. according to you.. you didnt answer the question... have you ever ran a hyd roller or not.. yeah, maybe you wont spent the money but its your guess on the power... am I correct... I'm looking at a Bullet hyd roller... but if you know for fact that it doesnt make the power of a FT cam then maybe I should look else where.... I'm talking lift to lift and the other things on any cam.... thanks if you can help me out.... I have a solid roller in it now and it a bit noisey
