Some of the IND 361 and 413's had steel top ring land inserts and the comp ratio is very low 7.5-8.0.Not sure the inserts would hold up well above 4500 rpm. While the heads would be a great addition,I think at least at set of light duty truck pistons would be in order. There are also issues with shrouding the valves with the small bore. You may need to notch them for extra clearance.
How far down the bores are the pistons?
Leave the gun.......take the Cannoli's....Mike

don't the larger vales come close to the smaller bore?
they will be very close on a 413 , smaller than a 4.25 bore , I think it's 4.1875

It must still have the dump truck pistons in it. I've never had one apart but if they resemble the 4 ring ones GM put in their 366 and 427 tall deck truck motors, I have seen the results of one too many trips to 7500. Destroyed everything except 1 head and the intake and I think it had a scuff on the bottom from a rod that came up thru the valley. Funny thing was it didn't come unglued until the drive back home. Just cruising along, a little vibration and BOOOM!! Kevin
