on a lighter note, this is what I have been working on for the last month (building fixtures, writing programs etc). this block is for steve hebert. holt is building him a car. I have a new motor to build for john baughman also, and will probably do that block later this week.

New car or just new paint???

Regardless...these SS/AH cars have really raised the bar as far as "appearance" It seems they take as much pride in the way the cars look as well as how fast they go. Every new one I see is nicer than the last one !

When I helped wrench on Ken Lau's SS/DA 63 Plymouth from Reading Pa. I seen John Tedders SS/AA car many times since he was are engine builder and also the SS/AA car of the Carpanette Brothers from around Harrisburg Pa. THey were around in the 1970 and 1980. Does anyone know what happened to the cars. Is John still alive. The last I know he moved back to his home town of Philly after retiring from Chrysler.

Well, it is really 40.5 years old. When the Holt's complete their task it will be as brand new as possible. Not one square inch untouched. This all came about as a "Briar Rabbit" story as I was bracket racing Jim Pancakes old Death Wish Cuda. After a 157 MPH pass on leaf springs (floater)Jane took the car from me! "If you must do this, I want you to have a new safe car" NO PLEASE, DO NOT THROW ME IN THE BRIAR PATCH. Hence Holt and Westcott have their contracts. Signed "Dumb like a fox"

John was at the "Hemi Reunion" this past year. He spent a lot of time at the Mark Janaky "Photo Canopy" and enjoyed answering questions. His tale of himself and Terry Earwood in a Viper was cool.

Gee Mr. Spyphish, if I knew there was any demand for a photographic interpreter when I got out of the USAF in 1981, I might have tried your path. I thought everything was in DC. It sounds like you did quite well. Good luck with the new car.

John Tedder lives in Maryland.

His Hemi GTX Ragtop is in Louisiana.

A friend of mine has the Black and Yellow "John Tedder" Hemi Barracuda.

Percy Johns has the white & rainbow "Motech" Barracuda, it was at the Hemi Reunion this past summer.

Are you the same Steve that I gave all the info on Ken Lau's 64 Dodge super stock.Does your grandpa still own the car? Where did you get that picture? It looks like it might be at Milan Dragway and if it is we were there testing something new for Chrysler or breaking in a new John Tedder engine.

Carpinette's 68 was at York a few years ago they still had the car. Bob was there with the car. Same as the last time they ran it at Indy in 1980 I beleive.

The Carpinette Bros Barracuda was at the Carlisle Hemi Reunion years ago.

It is a awesome time machine. Engine was still sealed from the last race in the 80's. One of my favorite cars without a doubt.

I gotta search for the pics!

This is the same Steve. Car's in the garage still, I ran it about a half dozen times last year. It went 9.97 @ 135 first time out in May, which is a best for it.

The pic was taken at Englishtown in '73.

81, we were the 1st civilian users of Block one GPS. 3:58 hrs per day, moving up 4 min per day. Made for some interesting projects and weird hours. Thanks for your response. Yeah, it worked out. PS Relocated to DC Beltway in 2005.
